Description

This Y bracket for a prusamendel can (also) be used if you want or need your belt to run very close to your stepper. It is clipped onto your frame then bolted in and secured by the washers so you don't need to take your frame apart to get it on and off.

My steppers have machined pulleys fixed on them with a length of 14.5mm, but the teeth only go untill 10,5 mm.The pulleys have a diameter of 9.7mm with 11 teeth and a 3mm pitch. when your diameter is much bigger the belt cannot be so close to the stepper because it will not have enough clearance.

Instructions

You can use this with a nut less than the standard design. I have the following on the rod: a nut, small washer, Y bracket, small washer, big washer, small washer, bearings, small washer, big washer, nut.

To avoid a collision with my bottom print plate I have cut a bit out of the plate as you can see on the picture taken from the bottom of the reprap.

I have uploaded an stl file both with and without rounded edges. furthermore an inventor file. My bracket was printed on a commercial machine with a second extruder for the support material.

Any chance you could export the .stp file w/o the fillets, or as a .sldprt file?

Thanks for uploading the .stp w/o the fillets!

Hi Notloc,

Yes I was scared I would break them when I tried to get the pulleys of so I decided to keep them on. They say machined pulleys are better anyway.

I got them through German eBay from anoli321. You will have to ask her for your length and width. The type is "HTD / RPP Zahnflachriemen Zahnriemen 3M." for length 882 and width 6mm you pay 7,13
€. I think it is quite standard so you should be able to find them somewhere else too. Good luck

I think I have the exact same steppers with the same pulleys. I ended pulling them off (no small feat) because I couldn't locate a compatible belt. And now I am not really happy with my printed pulleys.... Anyway, where did you find the belt? Thahnks!

this is an excellent idea!

I'm inspired to try and recreate it in a way that's more amenable to being printed with our repraps

hi Triffid, thanks!

off course I had a good starting point to build from ;) I already thought about changing it so it can be build on a reprap. it will require some more thinking. Maybe I willl try this weekend. If you make it from multiple pieces it will not be any problem at all but off course there is no challenge in that ;)
