Description

I liked jetty's new buttons, but I thought the X's looked too much like H's, and I like symbols better anyway, so this is the result.

Instructions

Print, pull off old buttons and press on these. I was amazed now nicely they snap on. This print is upside-down compared to jetty's; this is so you can print raftless and have nice, shiny buttons. Also, the attachment holes tend to be less deformed this way.

Using jetty's spectacular new firmware, thingiverse.com/thing:15380, simply set a "Pause at ZPos" for 1.0mm in order to change color.

I recommend printing with zero extra shells, 100% infill and zero Infill Perimeter Overlap. Infill Perimeter Overlap is important with less infill, but for solid parts, it'll just overfill and deform the object.

Added a section to firmware manual about how to do multi colored printing with a single extruder as shown in this thing: http://wiki.makerbot.com/jetty...

FYI, on a ToM the Pause@ZPos should be "0.9mm" for a 0.3mm layer height.

I tried a few iterations of the attachment, beginning with similar to the existing buttons, but everything was either too tight or too loose. Eventually figured out that a circle would touch the 4 corners only, and the ridges on the plastic would grip it. Simpler is the solution most of the time
:-)

I printed mine with -2.5 instead -2.0 (if you look the photo it looks very centered :D):

module cButton(){
difference(){
buttonCube();
translate([-1,-2.5,height])check();
}}

Now even your granma can print the lunch's bread by itself 8-)

Very helpful and makes the interface even easier to use :)

I prefer yours to mine !

They look gorgeous! the only detail I find is about the "ok" tick is not centered in the y axis O:-)
