Description
Made obsolete by thingiverse.com/thing:2341
Use for separating cap from beer bottle (non-twistoff).
Works on the same principle as banging the bottle against a counter.
Does not require the addition of any other parts (such as a penny as Zach originally suggested).
Next version will have the handle slot deleted/fixed since it does not print correctly.
Currently is in beta state, has opened a bottle for me, but may not work for you. Please submit photos of the bottles it did not work on so I can improve the design.
Current GCode file is for 4032D PLA, but may work for ABS. Its also raft-less since Ive found PLA prints better without one.
Note: If you are making your own GCode for this, make sure you use at least 50% infill as anything less than that may make the part too weak to open the beer.
So far I have been able to open 3 bottles with one made out of PLA before failure. Let me know how different materials fair for you.

Instructions
1. Print (GCode file takes ~20 minutes)
2. Wait for part to cool (2-5minutes). This is important since you need the full strength of the plastic
3. Open beer
3A. Insert beer bottle into opener so the top of the opener is below the bottom of the cap. This will be somewhat hard to do as the tolerances are very close
3B. Grab neck of beer bottle with hands, push upwards on the tab with your thumbs. Warning: cap/opener will come flying off.
3C. Enjoy beer

Not one day ago, I had the very problem: A bottle of beer and no bottle opener around. So I planned to design a printable bottle opener as soon as possible and used a hammer from my toolbox to open the bottle in the meantime...
Thanks to Thingiverse, I now can save the time to design my own printable bottle opener.
I'll try to print this one soon.
Thanks.

You possibly printed the MK I version of this, which was really hard to use, the MK II version is much better.

You stick the bottle in the hole, then pry upwards on the large tab

Thanks for the instructions :)
Too bad: now I have a bottle opener but no beer bottles in the house...
