view allABS is flammable. Nerd points to the first person with a youtube'd time-lapse of someone torching their beloved Weighted Companion Cube.
You're right. It's not a throw-away. It's a Drop into an Aperture Science Emergency Intelligence Incenerator-away.
Sorry, I had to say that.
I only burn messed up Companion Cubes.

I hope nobody posts the new Portal 2 heart cube (I didn't say Weighted Companion Cube for a reason). I hate that one.
This has replaced my test cube... because it tests much more but isn't as throw away as intentional test objects.

Ahhh! It printed awful! I don't have Skeinforge working, and I am using RepSnapper. It has no hearts on it, and the top didn't work at all!
When I tried printing this (I scaled it up x2 in Blender), it tried printing at a slant! I killed it about 1/8 the way done.
(I incinerated the smaller one that failed before that. Ha! It's not a full Weighted Companion Cube, so I guess there is nothing wrong with incinerating it!)
This is funny. You incinerate normal plastic into a Weighted Companion Cube. Just the opposite.
By the way, you guys know that the Weighted Companion Cube is "Still Alive"? Look at the regular Portal 2 video in the fire scene. It got stuck on a ledge just before jumping into the real fire pit. :)
I printed one at 1.5x, turned out pretty well. The top heart was a little deformed.
I love my companion cube. I hope I never have to incinerate it.
One issue I'm having is that in working on a derivative I'm finding I can't import the STL into OpenSCAD due to "ERROR: Illegal polygonal object - make sure all polygons are defined with the same winding order. Skipping affected object." Has anyone else been able to bring this into OpenSCAD?
Also, when I attempted to resolve the above problem by cleaning up in blender, all of the vertexes are showing as non-manifold. Hmm.
I made a fun little video with this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...
What's the fill on this? Wondering if it's a weighted companion cube or just a regular one..
It is called the Weighted Companion Cube. There is no "normal one." Unless you mean the regular Aperture Science Weighted Storage Cube. But that isn't a Companion Cube. And it haves the Aperture logo on it, not the heart.
This was a triumph.
I'm making a note here:
HUGE SUCCESS.
It's hard to overstate
My satisfaction.
Aperture Science
We do what we must
Because we can.
For the good of all of us.
Except the ones who are dead.
But there's no sense crying
Over every mistake.
You just keep on trying
Till you run out of cake.
And the Science gets done.
And you make a neat gun.
For the people who are
Still alive.
I'm not even angry.
I'm being so sincere right now.
Even though you broke my heart.
And killed me.
And tore me to pieces.
And threw every piece into a fire.
As they burned it hurt because
I was so happy for you!
Now these points of data
Make a beautiful line.
And we're out of beta.
We'r
e releasing on time.
So I'm GLaD. I got burned.
Think of all the things we learned
For the people who are
Still alive.
Go ahead and leave me.
I think I prefer to stay inside.
Maybe you'll find someone else
To help you.
Maybe Black Mesa...
THAT WAS A JOKE, HA HA, FAT CHANCE.
Anyway this c
ake is great
It's so delicious and moist
Look at me still talking when there's science to do
When I look out there
It makes me glad I'm not you
I've experiments to be run
There is research to be done
On the people who are
Still alive.
And believe me I'm am still alive
I'm doing science an
d I'm still alive
I feel FANTASTIC and I'm still alive
While you're dying I'll be still alive
And when you're dead I will be still alive
Still alive
Still alive

I'ma go modify this one to print in two parts to glue together for hearts on all sides.
