4.3 LCD Touchscreen Front Plate
Description
This is the STL file for a front plate for a 4.3" LCD display. I've been working on a proof of concept touchscreen replacement for the Gen4 Interface Board.
You can see the video here dl.dropbox.com/u/6717742/Gen4Touchscreen.m4v
The video shows Jetty's firmware thingiverse.com/thing:15380 , but will work with the original or future firmware written to support the original Gen4 Interface Board.

Looks like an awesome thing!
Will you also share the rest of the project?
(sorry but I feel like you are just sharing a 0.1%, kind of advertising... pffff...)

As I said, this really was just a proof of concept. It requires a fair amount of solder work and various parts, including a microcontroller, LCD touchscreen and breakout board, and a interface board that will require a chunk of soldering. If several people are interested in building their own I can try to put some instructions together.

I don't understand half of what you just said but I approve. The video says it all. It works. Awesome. :)

Very cool. Is this a 4D display? What Microcontroller are you using? I have a 4.3" 4D touch display that needs a home.
I used a Propeller chip from Parallax Inc. Having 8 cores helps with this kind of project as you can handle all of the user input responsively, draw the display, and still be able to handle the data coming in from the makerbot 4-bit data bus.
