Description

Simplified 3D laser scan of a chocolate bunny that I made a while back.

PS. I'd love to see pictures if anybody builds the bunny with a MakerBot!

We printed one and created a silicone cast to make chocolate bunnies for the MUGNY "MakerBot vs the Easter Bunny" event! I'll have to find you a picture and post as a derivative!

Great, I'd love to see pictures of the bunny! By the way, I would have wanted to watch the live stream from the event. Unfortunately it took place way after midnight my time.

I ran out of black during mid print, but here it is.

The raft is undersized, probably due to the model being rotated backwards slightly (I think). Printed on a BFB.

Thanks for the picture Boogie. I like the blue ears!

I really need one of those 3D printers eventually.

Oh yeah, I printed it with 0% fill so the top of the ears has some small holes. Probably not an issue with more fil.

Yeah please let us know how this was scanned

Can I ask what scanning hardware you used to make this?

Hello Zarquon, I scanned it with a self-made 3D laser scanner (line laser rotated by stepper motor + USB camera). At the time I had a trial version of Geomagic to transfer the scan to CAD-data.
