bed-spring_4off (improved)

Description
I made that area somewhat longer to improve print-reliability.
The provided photo of this failure was done on a properly calibrated RepMan with 0.25mm layer-heigh and usualy extremely good prints. So
I guess this issue is much worse on the majority of RepRaps and Makerbots.

Hi Marcus,
is the design for ABS springs? I imagine it won't work with PLA?
Thanks
ABS.
See the original Design for more details.
I have never worked with PLA. So I cannot answer your second question.
I think that problem is caused by ooze. As the head crosses the gap made by the hole it oozes so some filament is missing when it makes the short section. That causes the layers not to stick properly because there is missing plastic.
Are you using the extruder reverse option?
I cannot flash the 1.0.8 firmware aka "no strings attached" due to a hardware issue
and
&
lt;0RPM is ignored in my firmware.
BTW, I built the original version in ABS on HydraRaptor and did not get the problem.
The usefulness of these springs are really questionable, if you are using a heated bed with your Mendel...

Not very useful. Break too easily.
