hariseldon wanted one, and I just so happened to have one printed and still had the .stl.

This is a Starcraft 2 Hydralisk. Original model by Blizzard Entertainment, supports, optimization, and base modeled by me.

Print at 20% or so fill, factory settings worked fine for me.
After it prints, you need to use wire cutter or an x-acto knife to remove the supports.

BE CAREFUL, the claws and jaws are very delicate on smaller models (and still delicate on large models), cut slowly and controlled so the thin pieces don't snap.

Clean up spaghetti plastic after print and it should look great.

With 3D Slash, you can edit 3d models like a stonecutter. A unique interface: as fun as a building game! The perfect tool for non-designers and children to create in 3D.

A very nice model, and I'll have to upload a picture of the one I've made. I printed it out twice on a Replicator2, without added supports, and found that it's prone to go wrong on its arms (especially the right) and lose some of the blades, which is something to watch out for, but otherwise it prints very well. Thanks for the upload!

Hey Im curious how did you go about extracting the 3d files from starcraft

Woow... I've been looking for a STL of anything from SC2.

Do you happen to have the model without supports and base?

Excellent work =)

Very nice, from what kind of file did you make your .stl ?

Can you post it or tell how to get one ?

I have some small slicing issues and want to make some changes.

I actually pulled the model from the game, then modified it in Cinema 4D to add custom stilts and remove unreasonable overhangs.

thank you so much, i'll try to print it this evening, though it seems very difficult.. maybe i'll do some bridge testing before..
