Description

I wasn't really happy with the existing laser cut build platform... So I added my own.

The hole in the middle was added to provide a way to route the heated build platform wires and make for a cleaner end design.

Instructions

1) Laser cut.

2) Build a printrbot....

...

3) profit?

Any advice on thickness? What are most of you guys preferring? 3mm MDF sound reasnoable?

Can anyone make me one - i'll pay. Need it sent to the uk. please email me at hugh@3distributed.com

is it for the original printed printrbot 6x6?

Its for the Printrbot+ -- 8x8

What are the dimensions of both the Main Platform and the Leveling plate?

When i download the svg's they seem to be very small.

Same here, svg comes in scaled to 5.14" x 3.75".

What's the overall dimension? Thanks

You don't need the leveling plate.

The Main Platform is the right size for an 8x8 heated bed.

Does a MK2 heatbed fit for the main platform? Do I need the leveling plate?

How did you get the Printrbot logo on your platform 8-) ?

@FisHNorwary, it fits on the main platform.

You do NOT need the leveling plate... :)

The printrbot logo was laser cut from a sheet of acrylic decal paper.

I got my from eBay for $11.99 including shipping (item # 150769271406) and I love it!

Glad you like it :-) That buy owes me commission...; )

I'm thinking this can be shorter. I figured in sketchup that 13.122 in should be adequate for reaching both sides of the heated bed in the printer's y direction.

I really like the holes for a connector, that's an awesome idea.

What's up with all the empty space on the right? That means longer smooth rods than necessary.

extra space is required to make sure the entire build surface can be reached by the extruder.

Since the rods are mounted to the bed itself, it needs space to travel the width of the bottom mount / extruder.
