Description

There's this great set of gears on the following site: jacquesmaurel.com/gears

I couldn't find models for them online, so here's my take. It's just an AutoCad DXF of an involute curve, extruded in OpenSCAD.

The 1- and 2-tooth gears mesh beautifully, though I have not tried motorizing them. I'm currently out of filament so I haven't tried the 3-tooth gear yet :(

Instructions

I was nearly out of plastic, so I made these with 0% infill and just stopped them 2-3 layers below the top, resulting in the shot-glass-like shapes shown here. Put some stiff bars through the holes, let them spin! Extra fun.

Jacques youtube video on the subject:

Thanks for the posts, I've updated the link in the description. The video you've linked to shows the gears operating normally, that is, one is moving clockwise and the other is moving counterclockwise. This video shows the "paradoxical" motion that is so appealing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

SCAD source please?

Good point, those have been uploaded too, in the .zip file.
