I notice this a lot with files from zbrush. Zbrush has tools/docs for exporting for 3d printing, and they all suggest that the artist hollow their models. For home 3D printing, completely solid models are best.

Yeah I've made the same mistake with my first model for this contest, fixed it thanks to the feedback of this nice community and never did it since. ;)

@bohacking35

Will you add the other parts, too? They're missing in the STL file. :(

Please also post a lower resolution of the model. A 172 mb stl makes this almost impossible to slice correctly for a lot of people.

The fact that this is hollow doubles the file size again, the slicing software allows us to choose printing any object hollow or with any amount of "infill".

On the other hand, having the model hollow might might create artifacts in the printed paths, so the best file to print would be a solid, binary .stl.

Wow, great model! Could you post the other parts too? :)

I uploaded a model that is one solid object with no other parts so I hope that helps out. the file size is a lot smaller too. I'm not sure why th first file didnt have the other parts with it.

cheers
