Cupcake Controller Concept by CidVilas Feb 19, 2010

Description

This is a yet to be completed enclosure for a Makerbot Cupcake controller. I see it using a relatively powerful microcontroller, some tactile buttons, "nokia knock-off" display from sparkfun, and some tactiles. Preferably have it tap into the power of the makerbot motherboard.

Sketchup file is provided for additional hacking! :) Enjoy!

Hah! Maybe not so much a Repman, but a Repboy! :)

With all the talk about having a built in Serial interface for printing and browsing the SD card without a computer, i thought this may help with the process.

cupcake going RepMan?

Excellent! The enclosure should fit snugly on itself and can be easily printed on a Makerbot. Preferably in PLA since ABS may warp without a heated print bed. Please post your results! :) Looking forward to seeing future developments :)

Instructions

The STL files provided do not have holes provided since there is no circuit board design reference provided yet. I am hoping that this will inspire others to continue the development of this device.

FrontPanel - Probably would contain the cutout for buttons and lcd display.

RearPanel - Attaches to front panel to conceal internals.

TactileButton - This was designed to be the buttons which should fit over generic tactile buttons.

Great! This will come in handy! (I am currently making a Arduino serial controller for the makerbot) Thanks!
