PS: all suggestions, question and discussion will be the best teacher for me...

New update.... rear arm with screw.... i notice that rear arm have a weak spot on the axis... so i modified it with put a hole on the axis so i can put a 3mm screw on it as a bone... now rear arm can have much much strong axis...

PS: use a 3mm diameter screw with long as long as the axis or close enough...

This is alternative body for bigger battery....

Hi! Super design! Going to print this but are all the parts designed to print in the angle they appear? Or can i rotate them to use less support?

You really are a genius. Thanks for sharing your gifts with us.

thanks, u are welcome...

Can you make a version of the arms that would take 2204 motors?

i think all 22xx motor is fit in it...

So I am wanting a side LOS quad (made with some old 2204s and a cc3d) and I want to be able to have it either strapped on my backpack or inside it. Which one of your revisions do you think would be most fitting? I don't want any gimbal or GPS

Ok! Will be sure to get pictures and video if it works! Thanks!
I just need to find those springs.

Well Shoot! I think i know my next printing project!

I already printed one with Prusa I3 MK2. The design of the quadcopter is great but you can further improve it (if you have time ;-)) to make it more printable. There are currently too many curves which could be skippped. They just don't print nice. Which program are you using for editing? I'm really big fan of your project and waiting for any new updates :-).

sure, any improve will post here...
my last update is on http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2004357 and all part has been tested...
next i maybe i will skip the curve after, at least after my micro gimbal is finish,,,

one more thing, i use 3dsmax for editing...

Can you design version with 5mm wider body inside? I can't really put pixhawk lite controller inside and some antivibration plate.

take a look at this... maybe u want to try it...

i don't know exactly is this will fit to the PXH, i just make it wider so my battery fit in this and not too tight...

yes, i have that one but i still test it...

What prop size did you used?

i use standard 9450 Self tightening Propellers...

I'm thinking about to adopt original mavic foldable propellers, but i can't get any info about quick release mechanism, need somewhere to get those adapter...

Also i rewound BE1306 motor to use as tiny gimbal + storm32 micro controller. Need also to buy pixracer for it =) Or try to use iNav as controllers on it is twice cheaper

I have those props on mine. I am using the tmotor 200 airgear. The bottom part of the adapter are not sold separately and attached directly to the motor. I widen the hole in the middle and cut off the adapter prongs on the bottom and secured with a nut on the motor

is that 2205 motors...? i don't know exactly but i think it's little bit too short... i'm afraid your propeller will be to close to the body... especially front propeller...

The are the 2205 2000kv they clear perfectly I will post the Mavic props are 8334

Please show us some pictures, can't clearly understand how did you mounted mavic props on it...

I removed the 3 hooks the latch into the base of the stock Mavic motor, widen the center hole and tighten down with a locking nut on the motor

This is a very nice design. I'm going to start printing it tonight. I'm going to print it at .1mm for smoothness which is going to take a while. I will share photos of the parts as they are done. I will probably use a mini APM controller or I might use one of the new mini ET Vectors. Now all we need is the micro gimbal parts! :) Thank you for the time and effort with this!

well, have a nice printing...
for the giimbals, i still try to modified G2D gimbal arm for it... but it still shacking like hell... the camera is not heavy and not big enough... because i use striping runcam camera... i still can't find the proper balance for it...
my second plan is using 360 degree servo with 1:3 gear for gimbal... but still hoping i can manage for my first plan...

Just rewound my 1308 motor to use for jimbal =)
I don't think that miniapm is a good idea for this, i had zmr250 on it before, on 3s it flies, on 4s it gets crazy

4s RTL demo:

Where do you get the cap thing for the rear arm?

what cap thing? did u mean black rubber for the arm... i use heat shrink cable seal...

What size motor are you running

u can use 2212, 2213 or 2312 in any KV

which software do you use to print your drone ?

i slice it using cura with 100% infill for all arm and the rest is 50% infill... i use cura slicer in repetier... and print it using octoprint...

can they amres mouve if I print the drone in one piece?

u have to print all piece separately and assembly it become one, because there is some joint and axis that stick one to another but must can move freely...

u can look all the instruction to assembly it in http://www.instructables.com/id/Printable-Foldable-Quadcopter-DJI-Mavic-Clone-Fram/

can I print your drone in one piece or I need to print all pieces ?

mwilmar - in reply to xion99

u can use all_component.stl... it's all in one... or u can joint it all together one by one using 3D software...

I can't open files.

Dec 13, 2016 - Modified Dec 13, 2016
mwilmar - in reply to xion99

witch one?
u can directly open and print it using 3D printer application such as repetier or else...

Can you change rear arms connection like front arms? It is not convenient.

i have try that but it's not firm enough to stay in place.... not like front arm, rear arm fold mechanism is move vertically... so it's a more difficult to make with PLA printer...

nice design man

is weird shape if i make the cover fit for 5000mah battery... so i make optional open battery try for it...

update lock in place mechanism for top cover and higher F arm foot...

Id like to know what size motors it was designed for.

i use 2312... but 2212 or 2213 works too...

can you explain detail specs? FC, ESC, etc? thanks

Dec 6, 2016 - Modified Dec 6, 2016
mwilmar - in reply to squadzone

nothing specific, for me i use 2312 920kv with mini 20A Opto ESC... the rest such as FC, GPS, UBEC etc is up to you...

How do you suspect those arms are going to hold up in a crash?

well i don't expect it to crash, hehehe... but u can try to print it with 100% infill for those arm... it will a little bit heavy but stronger... however it's made from plastic... unless u have another material more stronger for 3D print material....

Nylon maybe
