The Freaky Tiki
Description
I scanned this Tiki sculpture using My3DScanner.com. I'm still trying to learn how to clean up these meshes, but looks good to print. Please upload photos if you try it printing it!

Great job! But it in fact looks a little bit simplified. Decimation always kills details. I would recommend to use MeshMixer to get rid of unwanted parts, fill holes, refine details and sculpt a bit. You can than dynamically and smartly decimate.
I also usually try to keep colors as they help to recover some shapes, so after my3dscanning I transfer color from a point cloud to the mesh in MeshLab and import colored verex .ply into MeshMixer.
Yes, it's actually greatly simplified. There were just so many points in it that I couldn't even manipulate it in sketch up, so I kept simplifying it in mesh lab to import it into sketch up and close the bottom.
If you can point me to some tutorials on how to clean these meshes up and recommend a painless way to close up the bottom I would be eternally grateful! I'm still learning and need all the help I can get!
