You can adapt al the distances like diameter of the shaft and of the shell by changing them in the scad file using OpenenSCAD http://openscad.org/
I have been thinking about making on of these for my washing machine. You could make a business making Knobs that have broke! They want 15 dollars at the store for a new one! :-$ :-$ :-$ Its all a racket!
