20mm Z Axis Control Knob
Description
Adjusting the Z Axis 'screw' by hand - to get the starting layer just right was getting to be a real pain. So I made this derivative of the RepG example file to make adjustments a lot easier!
Instructions
First, I ended up doing some sanding on the new section of the knob, to get it to fit the motor just right. Next, I placed a VERY SMALL drop of superglue on the new section, and placed it on top of the motor spindle / screw. Then I left to let it dry - and so I wouldn't mess it up by checking it over and over.
Be WARNED - superglue and motors don't play well. You do NOT want to end up with drops of glue in / on your motor. Put the glue on the knob - away from the motor ( and the rest of your bot as well ).
Now making changes to the Z height are MUCH easier - plus the knob looks cool and makes it easy to see when a new layer has started.
