Derived from
eMaker Huxley Part Cooling Fan Mount
by richgain
Description
This is an addition to richgain's simple but effective Fan Mount. It allows you to use a second fan on the x-motor side.
I found having only a fan blowing from one side of the bed not enough certain prints and wanted a second on blowing from the opposite direction. By attaching the fan to the x-motor it moves with the z-axis and will always point towards the newest layer.
The design was made in Tinkercad and is available at tinkercad.com/things/1dSwoYOgJ0h

Instructions
print this bracket
print richgain's fan mount (Thing 15899)
unscrew the top and bottom 16mm M3 screw holding the x-motor
attach the bracket using two 25mm M3 screws
attach a 40x40mm fan to the fan mount using M3 nuts and screws, use some washers if the fan blades touch the mount
attach the fan mount to the bracket using a M3 screw and nut
wire the fan
Note: This was made for a RepRapPro Huxley, I don't know if eMaker's Huxley uses the same x-motor mount.
Some more details on this fan mount and on how to connect the fans is available in my blog post at splitbrain.org/blog/2012-03/24-reprap_huxley_cooling_fans

I made one! However ... I had to do a lot of 'fettling' in order to get the screws to line up with the motor - I had to elongate each of the two holes before I could get the screws into their holes. I also found that 25mm M3 screws were too short - I needed 30mm. It works though - I have printed a couple of things which failed in the past because of heat build up. :)

Thanks so much for this great part! You have helped me improve the print quality I can achieve with my machine :) You rock man!
I saw that your print of the bracket warped. Might I suggest that you try printing that bracket with a "Brim"
I made a post about brim printing on the RepRap blog here:http://forums.reprap.org/read....
Excellent idea. I'll try that.
