Summary

Is uploaded also the free versions without sign or wrote.
So everyone can customize it.

V2 - some fix on the geometry to produce correct path.
Now i'm printing it with pause at 0.80 and 9.00 to switch filament.
This is a working grinder printed without support and raft at 90/150mm speed x 230 degree (standard settings on makerware).
It's for a friend that have a Shop here in Canarias.
Print time: 2h 25m with 2 filament change (3 colors).
Filament was changed at Zpos 0.60mm and 9.20mm.
Maybe better to pause at Zpos 9.00mm to fill better the last filament

wow this will actually fit on a m3d in one print lol. cant wait to see how this turns out. thanks

let us see :)

hello! So I just printed this guy here. But I ve gotta say it s really hard to turn the wheels. Is there any way to makme them turn easier?

i'm sorry but seem that this depend on your printer... For example, with a Replicator 2 and Prusa i3, the nutcracker was working wery good. With my rostock, the models are printed differently... and i need to figure what can be the correct result, from Rep2 and Prusa i3 or from the Delta :)
Would be good a new grinder, with more tolerance. I'm thinking to design one directly in 123D design.
Right now the model is this one :(

well, thank you for answering quickcly. The real problem was the friction between the outer walls of the bottom part and the inner wall of the top part so I just trimmed the outer wall of the bottom part, now it works like a charm. Thank you for your design. Peace

RenatoT - in reply to koray1921

Have you checked the extruder, if it extrude the right part of filament? I mean.. if you measure the filament, 100mm and send the command to extrude 100mm with your favorite program... maybe that you are extruding more plastic.
I made the test and find more plastic in the printer settings... instead 100mm it was extruding 105 mm, so more plastic.. and this grow the prints.

please post your print :)

hi renato, i want to write on the grinder some friend's names. i saw that you say in a precedent comment to download the "grinder senza loghi" but how can i wirte on it? i am searching to convert stl in ipt to open in inventor, but i can't find a way. the grinder works realy good, thank you!

You need to use a 3D Software as blender, cinema 4D and maybe meshmixer to generate the 3D mesh of the Name then you need to make a Boolean (fusion) between the grinder and the name.
Pretty simple to do.. if you already made these things :)

i will try, thank you!

Any chance of the top and bottom being separated? I've got a small printer, so the two simultaneous prints make the grinder rather small.

Hi, some slicer can do that directly without use any other tool.
Cura, simplify3D, Makerware can separate the geometry with a click.
What slicer are you using?

I'm using cura. I figure it out. Apparently, I'm to complacent to right click..

You can open the file in meshmixer and use the slice tool. Cut one half off then save it with a new name. Reopen the original and cut the opposite off and save it with a different name.

Hi RenatoT,
I'm a uni student in London. Would you be willing to release the source file so I can edit it to put me and my friends names on the grinder. I'm not doing it for commercial gain. I just thought it would be a cool Christmas present :)

Hi HSpong,

there are 2 grinder here.. take the first one and customize it as you want. :)

hii, can you please explain how do you stop the print and change color?

Depend on your printer.. just pause and change the filament.
Or make a gcode with a pause at certain level (depend on the slicer you use).

Great grinder prints perfect

Show me please :)

What Did This Item Weigh after Print?

Depend on infill.. :) Try to slice it and see how much will be the weigh.

okay thank you

can i print this in PLA

Of course :)

Ciao, c'è l'stl senza loghi, puoi usare quello.

ciao, per caso riesci a postare anche il file modificabile del grinder? anche con fondi piatti senza scritte e loghi.. grazie

Hi dxm, i've just upload the model :)

I prefer to not give the C4D R15 scene, but here you can download the free one.

Hey RenatoT, any chance you could upload one without the Legalize It lettering? Or maybe the source file so it could be edited? I would really appreciate it, thank you!

I am using Repetier-Host and the program can't go through Intersection tests to load the stl file.

Hi WinnieNG,

can you use makerware to generate the Gcode?

Well I can but than my Repetier-Host can't read that properly. MakerWare uses different gcode flavor and I am not sure if its gonna work for me to print it. In MakerWare the model loads and looks great. I will let you know if it worked for me (but i tried with other model and it failed).

i'm too new to gcode.. :) right now i'm printing directly with makerware on rep2.

Grinder Updated to V2 release. Some important fix on the geometry to create better path.
