Description

Simple dust remover that fits over standard Makerbot Cupcake CNC Plastruder. Simply print and stick two pieces of Dish washing sponge cut to size with the soft part facing the filament and presto chang-o! Clean filament enters the extruder. You can also fill the sponge with your favorite oil compound for use with PLA.

Will this fit the Mk5???

I intentionally made it loose (About 1 to 2 mm loose :) ) . I figure there is no reason for it to be tight since the filament would keep it in place.
I provided the SketchUp file in case anyone wanted to modify it.

Looks good, but it doesn't really clip on tightly for me. Should probably be about 1 or 2mm narrower.

After seeing how much this collects dust even in a quick and simple prints, I'm afraid to print without it. Taking the extruder apart and cleaning it is long and painful process. I've encased the filament reel and still dust gets to this filament dust remover.

-I strongly recommend using some sort of dust remover.
