Description
I had to post this, as it was a major accomplishment for me to get ReconstructMe running on My MacBook Pro. Whew! I haven't jumped so many hoops since I stitched QTVR panoramas from the command line back in 1995. So satisfying to finally get this working!!!
I'm looking forward to playing with ReconstructMe more and trying some full body scans of the cavalcade of Coney Island characters... Stay tuned!

Sure! Its no small feat.
First off, you have to install windows under Bootcamp. I tried running it under virtualbox, but it would not work, you need a Bootcamp install to take full advantage of the hardware acceleration. I got Windows 7 running on my BC partition, then its time to start installing all the drivers
&
amp; software necessary for ReconstructMe.
The ReconstructMe installation guide is what you need to follow:

My notes: If you're on a Macbook Pro with Nvidia, there's a known issue with the latest driver, and instead, you need to install version 285.62.
(See http://reconstructme.net/faq/#...
er for details)
Read the FAQ and usage carefully. You will need to be comfortable with the comand prompt to be able to run the software. They have a google group listed on the FAQ page (https://groups.google.com/grou..., and the developer Christoph Heindl is quite active and helpful t
here.
Good Luck!

Would you mind posting some info on how you got ReconstructMe running on your Mac? Or linking to any help you used?
The Instructions on the ReconstructMe installation page is good, follow that:
http://reconstructme.net/insta...
My install is running under Windows 7 on Bootcamp, but someone got it working under parallels. The ReconstructMe Google Group is good for helping you troubleshoot, but just follow the install instruction and you should be good- you just need to be careful to install all the drivers. The thing for m
e was having to install the older version of the Nvidia drivers: version 285.62, because of some conflict with the newer one.

Looks good, congratulations!
Thanks, Tony!
One issue I am finding is that because of the limits of my hardware I am only able to scan about 1 meter cube area. In looking at what people are doing with scanning using mirrors to get multiple sides of a body in one pass, or scanning a top half and bottom half of a body, I'm wondering if you or anyone here knows of any tutorials on how to combine meshes into a single object?
Thanks to your last video, I am now pretty comfortable using a combo of Meshlab, Netfabb Basic and Meshmixer to clean up and prep my scans for printing(Now I just need a printer!). I'd really like to explore combining meshes such as a top half of the body and a lover half of the body to make a ful
l body scan. If you know of any tutorials on this I'd really appreciate it!
