Description

Arduino case with two different covers. One cover is low profile for just the arduino. The other cover is for the excellent Video Experimenter shield from nootropic design.

Instructions

This is a minimal plastic usage design. the sides are 1.6mm thick. The hinge is strong with a 3mm hole so you can use plastic filament for the hinge. Of course either top works for the one bottom.

Printed this on a thing-o-matic.. Fits an UNO nice and snug and the ardvidtop had plenty of space for my Wifly shield and the components on top (after I clipped a bit out of the back :) )

Oh, and if you can, please share the Alibre file. I am using it too, maybe I can design me some improvements.

I just printed it with my cupcake, I found that the tolerances are a bit tight and when closing the lid, the bottom part hinge cracked. This is probably also due to the fact that my makerbot is not 100% calibrated. I also just printed it with 24% infill, 100% would probably be better. Having said all that: really nice box!

Ahhh! Great idea for using the filiment for the hinge pin! This is what this is all about!

HOW TO DESIGN LIKE A BOSS: needs standoffs and screwholes

Yes you are right. If you want to secure the arduino to the case you have to take care of that yourself.

This is a great design. Would you be willing to upload your source for the Video top so it can be derived to fit with other shields?

The file is an Alibre file and I don't know how to convert it to something more universal. Alibre OK?
