This is a proof of concept laser scanner for the WowWee Rovio mobile webcam. It uses a $15 12mm diameter laser line generator purchased from eBay and is based on the laser scanner design described here.

Excellent design, I was thinking of doing something similar but for an
array of leds and with some support further up the body of the rovio.
I am also building a 3d scanner but I am using a piece of transparent
PLA taped to the front of an ordinary laser pointer to get the laser line.
Works quite well, a glass / crystal wine glass stem works better.
