Summary

This LCD cover is designed for RichRap's Delta 3DR but it may work with other printers changing the holder part.
The LCD itself is available at RepRapDiscount:
http://reprap.org/wiki/RepRapDiscount_Full_Graphic_Smart_Controller)
and workd withs Malin firmware and probably with other ones.

The design is a little mod of wersy's one:

UPDATE: I have added an improved version of the kill button, done by Corey, here is his remix

Instructions

No need of supports.
I printed it at 0.2mm resolution, 2 perimeters, 30% infill (honeycomb).

ive just printed this for my fab mini, and i to noticed a couple of slight problems, in reply to the comment below, yes the big button is slightly off center.
also can some on tell me, im gonna use this on the fab mini, do i need the "adapter "part...looks like i may not.?
cheers

great design btw

no adapter needed

Just in case anyone else hasn't spotted already the adapter only fits an extended 3dr, the holes don't line up on a standard size.

Printed out and looks nice though.

Is there a way to print this on the Fabrikator Mini???

Nice design but thanks for sharing. i have only 1 comment is it just me or is the hole of the (button big) not in center ?

My board has the encoder just in the center but as there are some Chinese factories that are selling the same board with their own production it's possible to find some small differences... I guess this is the problem with your misalign...

Sorry for my English. I mean the hol in the button. Not the hol in de front cover.

Nice design but I did end up having to cut a portion out of the top inner bezel to fit the LCD screen flush to the back.

Really? it's the first one to comment this...
I will check it with next prints

Thanks

Yeah, if you looks at this image you can see on the right side there is this additional black part next to the screen. On my LCD it's actually white and on the left side. It was hitting the bezel so I just cut a channel to make it fit flush.

I see, I will check it out with mine because I have never detected this issue... Thanks!

No problem man, great design! I did end up flipping the angled bracket on the Y axis since I wanted it to point upwards instead of down. I was just attaching it to an enclosure and not a bot. Came out great but I made it much harder on myself to install it that way :)

How many of the spacer should I print?

Just 4, one for each screw =)

Nice design, love it! The button is indeed a little to big to fit in the hole but ill sand it down a litle or make a slightly smaller one.
Thank you for sharing :)

What is the tiny spacer for?

The LCD screen has 2 different PCBs attached one above the other and there is an space between them so when attaching it to the case is a good idea to put the "tiny spacer" inside the screw and inbetween the two PCBs so that if you tighten the screw so much the PCBs don't touch each other or even crack because of the bending...

REALLY REALLY nice design. As someone else mentioned, the button was a little too big to fit properly. It needed a slight shave all round to fit smoothly in the slot and the retention flange at the bottom needed to be shaved so that the button wasn't being pressed by the case being screwed togther. I did a quick remix on the button only to solve this.

Thank you, I knew of someone having this problem too so I will update my parts with your remixed button.
=)

Can you share the drawing for this? My LCD have diffirent size and position of encore and stop button. I want to edit it. Thanks

Hi,

The design was done with Blender so I have no CAD file... it was done directly editing a mesh...

Nice model! I printed it for my custom RepRap and it worked fine. The button was just a tad too long, causing it to be pressed all the time but just a bit of sanding fixed it. Well done!

I printed it and in the prontoface it looked right but it printed with the sd hole on the wrong side?? How do I fix this? other things I have printed come out fine?

Two thumbs up!
I made one for my Mendelmax and it's just perfect, the graphic controller fits snuggly, the only issue I can see with this case is that it's a bit tricky to remove the SD card, but that is in part because of how I installed it on my printer.
I had to make a mounting bracket to fix it in place, I uploaded the files here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:245086http://www.thingiverse.com/thi...

Question: When I load this up in Repetier Host the image is great. But when I print, the wholes are on the left side. Mirror image to where they are supposed to be. Same for the SD card slot cutout.
Do you know why?

I had tyhe same problem and it turned out my printer configuration was wrong. I had to change it to have 0 in the front left corner. It printed perfect in PLA after that!

how did you flip it? to print right? In the marlin config h file?

Maybe i'm to late, but your endstop settings (propably X-axis) are inverted.
Swap X-min and X-max and the Print shouldn't be mirrored anymore.

Got it it was the Y not the X Thanks again

where do you change the settings? Marlin config h?

Connect, you can change the endstop settings in the config.h file.

I changed all of them and the holes are still on the wrong side Is there something I am doing wrong or do i need to change the stl file? Thanks

Go to: http://forums.reprap.org/list.php?1 and open a new thread.
People will help you.

Thank you I got it worked out. It was my Y not my x . Thanks

I heard that too from another person. I did the swap and it fixed the issue. Thanks

Strange issue... I have checked the parts and they are fine so it should be something related with Repetier Host, just check if you have any setting that is mirroring the print...
