Wobble Arrester by twotimes

Description

I have been in the pursuit of getting the best print that I can, and as I learned skeinforge and learned what worked on my bot I noticed a wave coming from the wobbling of the z-axis rods. This thing will isolate the z platform from the wobbling of the rods and relies on two precision rods and bushings to eliminate the wobble.

Note: This will not work with the x-axis endstops, since they would be in the same place.

Instructions

When printing the z floats, make sure to use comb in skeinforge or the springs will be a nightmare to clean the hairs off. There needs to be 4 holes drilled in the front of the makerbot to secure the rod retainers. Make sure to put the upper retainers as high as possible, if you don't, you will lose build height. Put the retainer in position and mark the plywood through the hole with a pencil. The bushings go in the top and bottom of the vertical clamp parts. Replace the Z guides with the Z floats mounted from the bottom of the Z platform with the little platform for the nut at the top. Assemble the rods, vertical clamp left and right, and the rod retainers, mount them, then clamp the platform. When clamping the vertical clamps to the Z platform, place some double sided tape in between the platform and the clamp.
