Description
The necklace consists of text (in this case, the words 'awkward turtle') translated into different languages and alphabets. However, any text can be used.
Instructions
1. A very detailed instruction manual is included which describes how to:
* create (and therefore modify) a text necklace in Adobe Illustrator,
* cut the necklace on a Trotec laser cutter.
2. Both the instruction manual and the necklace are works in progress. The necklace design needs improvement, which could include the following:
2.1 So far, I've only cut the necklace in cardboard, plywood and plexiglass. None of these materials sits well on the neck, as they stick out rather than taking the shape of the body. I suggest experimenting with more pliable materials such as leather.
2.2 Some of these problems could be rectified by decreasing the size of the text.
2.3 If more pliable materials are used, then it will be necessary to include a clasp (see the instruction manual), so that the two ends of the necklace can be tied together.
