Description

This thing is a bracket that holds up a piece of 14 mm eggcrate using suction cups from a spare MaxiJet powerhead. The eggcrate platform can then be used to hold coral frags inside an aquarium until they have grown out or until you are ready to sell them at a local frag swap.

Instructions

I have provided a plate with both one and two of these brackets.

1. Print out at least two of these brackets.
2. Grab two spare MaxiJet suction cups from your pile of reefkeeping equipment and push them into the holes.
3. Cut a section of 14 mm eggcrate into an appropriate length shelf. A 2" x 10" section is a good starting point.
4. Attach the brackets to both ends of the eggcrate.
5. Stick them to the inside of your aquarium wall.
6. Place coral frag plugs mounted with coral into the square holes.

NOTE: I included the SCAD file in case you need to adjust the size of the suction cup hole.

I recommend any of the three coral frag plugs here on Thingiverse:

* Shane's coral frag plug: thingiverse.com/thing:16982
* Shane's two-piece frag plug with removable top: thingiverse.com/thing:17313
* Joanne's Frag Plugs by engineglue: thingiverse.com/thing:16959

Print the brackets in either ABS or PLA. Print the frag plugs in PLA since they are more dense.
