Description

Inspired by my Dolce & Gabbana glasses. In Asia it is very trendy to wear designer frames without the lens! Brag to all of your friends that you rock the latest style and have Real 3D glasses :)

I have included the original Google sketchup files so that you can modify to your likings. Enjoy and be sure to post up your pics!

Instructions

Will require a small axle for the hinge, paper clip worked for me :)

Great work MintingMill! I highlighted these glasses in a video:

Easy to slice and print, and surprisingly durable hinges.

Excellent design!  I was able to print using my Makerbot Replicator without changing anything, and the frames fit my face perfectly! I only have one suggestion, to make the hinges fit better. The ear-piece hinges are just a little bit too wide to fit the eyeglass part of the frame. I broke one of the hinges trying to 'force' it in, and then I realized with some sanding I could shave the hinge down just enough for a snug fit. (I'm a newbie what can I say lol)  Now I'm wondering...how to attach real lenses to these glasses??? Hmmm...

Did you ever manage to find a way to do this?I'd love to be able to 3D print some new frames to replace my broken ones and just pop the same lenses in.

Great fun mate. My facebook world got really excited when I showed them my print of your design. Keep em' comin!
