This is a functional planetary gear I designed to sit on my desk and look pretty. =)

Print 1 Crown Gear
Print 1 Sun Gear
Print 1 Planet Gear Holder
Print 3 Planet Gears

The post that the planet gears sit on flex just a tad this alows for easy insertion the sun gear is snug but i didn't have any problems getting it in. I think it's worth giving it a try. Just sit the planet gears on the planet gear holder then insert it into the outer gear once it's in line up the sun gear and slide it in.
