Description

Acrylic enclosures for your Replicator can help keep heat, keep drafts out, and so improve print quality. But acrylic enclosures are expenisve.

So instead I am, with some help from the missus, making a Replicator Cozy out of cloth, but first it needs a frame above it to keep the cloth off the filament feed and cables.

More information on the actual printing process can be found at joesmakerbot.blogspot.com/2012/05/how-long-did-this-print-take-lionel.html

Instructions

* Print the 8 plate (the 7 plate is provided becuase I needed it after printing one to test the size).
* Cut 1/2" square dowels to the following dimensions:
4 x 16 1/4"
4 x 4 1/4"
4 x 10"
* Assemble the wood with the joints.
* Optionally screw the dowels into the joints.
* Sew a cloth covering for the Replicator. (This step is in progress.)

I'm not sure if the cozy will work... but the frame does!

This is great. I have mine printed up and will hopefully getting the square dowels. I am hoping to get some plexiglass type material to attach to it. Ill try and post some pictures when I am done. Thanks!

Great idea! Buddy of mine made one for his Replicator and his *cozy* is saran wrap which has completly eliminated draft related issues and he can still watch the print. The front piece of saran wrap only taped on one side and has pennies weighing it down to keep it taunt while still providing access.
