Description

Buckle your safety belts, we're about to get political!

On May 22nd, 2012, The God Article, a Christian civil rights organization, posted a status update on Facebook asking its members what they thought was an appropriate response to Pastor Charles L. Worley's comments that the gay and lesbian populations should be "locked inside an electric fence until they die out."

Member Michelle McBriarty suggested that members make a donation in Pastor Worley's name to their favorite LBGT charity, and the group immediately jumped on the idea. They created a blog post to organize the response:

I saw this idea and loved it... it's always best to respond to negativity with positivity, and this response seems like the exact right thing to do here.

For my part, I remembered the anti SOPA/PIPA coins from that protest, and thought it would be an awesome idea if folks were able to include a small token representing a couple that they personally know who has been affected by anti-gay bigotry.

So... I made these coins.

If you will be participating in this protest (and I hope you will) please print out the appropriate coin for the couple(s) that you know, and mail it along with the postcard from that blog page, to remind Pastor Worely that his words have meaning, they hurt real people, and they do not represent the Christian community.

Instructions

1: Go to thegodarticle.com/15/post/2012/05/a-sinfully-beautiful-response-to-ncs-latest-gay-bashing-minister.html

2: Make a donation to your favorite LGBT charity.

3: Print out the postcard available on that blog page, or write a letter.

4: Print out one or more coins representing couples that you personally know, to send along with the postcard/letter.

5: Put all of that in an envelope, and mail it off to the address listed in the blog post.

I'd print some of these and drop them in the collection plate at church. If I ever wanted to subject myself to such delusion. Blegh. Someone totally needs to do that.

Fired off a bunch of these today! ;) http://www.thingiverse.com/der...

Awesome! People are so clueless. This is a funny (maybe the wrong word) way to respond to some disgusting bigotry.

Totally. I like to imagine bag after bag of rainbow glitter postcards being brought in like the letters to Santa in Miracle on 34th Street, until the dude's entire desk is buried under the mound.
