Description

This is a replacement for the plastic pin that holds the elastic band on a a Dell Laptop power supply.

This way of storing the cable is great, and this print replaces a broken or lost pin.

Instructions

Print it, insert it.
There should be no need to tweak it, but you get the openscad file by the way (I measured it with a caliper from another Dell Laptop power supply).

More seriously, you probably want to consider a minimum layer print time (as I forgot), since the head is so small that it can melt as a whole on the end of the printing process. It happened to me but the pin was still usable and held the elastic band nicely.

I just used a lighter and metal rule to reshape it slightly to make it a bit more sexy... This is my first useful printed part :)

Update: sorry, I just realized that soehler already made this very specific thing (thingiverse is amazing!) thingiverse.com/thing:17007

thanks very useful

I almost designed one of these myself, glad you did it first! Thanks!

You are welcome! (that would have been the third time someone designs this pin) :-D

Whenever I have to pack my cord up to take the powersupply somewhere I think I should print something to replace that piece. Thank you.
