Stackable BB Waterfall

Description
A stackable BB waterfall/fountain/marble run with limitless potential. Center piece is designed to stack on top of itself for unlimited height. Unique top spiral and bottom piece with cup for collecting the BBs. This design opens many doors for expansion, such as new center pieces where BBs flow inside and out or even branch off into adjacent columns. The sky is the limit.
Originally set out to make a marble run but settled on BBs for a number of reasons. BBs are much cheaper - 6000 for around 10 bucks. BBs are much smaller - you can hold hundreds of them in the palm of your hand. This allows much more design flexibility with a limited print volume and hundreds of BBs whirling around creates a unique relaxing sound.
Now you can make it rain and the wife won't mind.

Instructions
OpenSCAD scripts are in the zip file.
The bottom piece, the cup, and the center piece should print perfectly without any support.
The top piece is a bit of a stretch but from what I've read it can be done. At worst you can add a single support to the opening and print it without the spiral if your not feeling adventurous. These things take forever to render so I'll upload the top without the spiral and the spiral seperately when I get the chance.
Also working on an alternate bottom piece where the cup is built in as a sliding drawer. It will need support though, so I opted for this design.
Specifications:
Main cylinder width = 15 cm
Main cylinder with ramp = 18 cm
Ramp width = 12mm vs. average BB at 4.5mm
Ramp lip height = 3mm
*Stacked height = 5cm
*non-stacked height about 6cm
*Bottom and center piece - not the top piece.
Question: Has anyone written or know of a python script/plugin to integrate gedit with openscad? Nothing fancy, I would just like to have a hotkey to compile openscad from gedit. Files are getting too messy without tabs and highlighting.
