I totally forgot about this because i deflected to Mendelmax right after designing this.

I have now succesfully printed the part, but the holes in the tensioner don't really work for me.... I can't figure out how it's supposed to work! :(

You know what is really weird... I printed the x3 version (pm_lm8x3.stl) and it didn't print the top part with the tensioner. It just stopped at the height of the nut-holders. Also didn't print a small layer of the bearing holders... And I have no idea why! I have printed a huge part before this one..

It is still usable, but now my carriage isn't 'complete'.

Damn 111OCT111, you inspired me! :)

This one looks really good, together with the parts you have posted here. I am currently printing the Carriage, already have the Y-motor clamp printed and it also looks damn good.

I have a Reprap Air 2 XL and am currently improving this model and when it's done...? Time to start printing a different model. I am already done with this shitty machine, the Air 2 is too much Guinea Pig is you ask me.

I see a lot of MendelMax models around here. What kind of machine do you use 111OTC111?

Where do I get the configuration.scad?

Hey tommyc,

Care to explain your layers on y?

I see aluminum foil, I'd like to know what you are using for the printbed.

My guess is glass-
&
gt;heated pcb-
&
gt;dibond or aluminum-
&
gt;your y-carriage, correct?

if so, how are you mounting the y smooth rods, above or bellow the threaded rods? I'm having a hard time finding solid documentation on i2 print bed, and I'm there in my build. Thanks!

The layers were glass-
&
gt;HBP-
&
gt;air-
&
gt;AL foil-
&
gt;acrylic plate-
&
gt;Y-carriage.

The acrylic couldn't take the heat, so i put some AL foil on it to reflect it. You don't need that if you use polycarbonate plate.
