Description

An easy paper toy with a hidden suprise! Lift the top off the mushkin to see what's underneath. This is the plain vanilla version of the Mushkin, you can download other designs from my website at tang-mu.co.uk/downloads but I'd love to see what you can come up with.

Instructions

You will need:
A4 Card (160-210gsm is pretty groovy but you can print with paper too)
Craft Knife, Scissors, Craft Robo, Lasercutter, Orbital Death Ray etc.
Ruler
Dead Biro or other scoring device
Adhesive - PVA spread thinly with a glue spreader, UHU, Balsa Cement, Double Sided Tape etc.

Print out pdf and decorate as you see fit. Add a moustache. Everything needs moustaches. Try not to use wet media as this will distort the paper unless you wet it and stretch it first

Score along the dotted lines using a dead biro and a ruler - if you do this before cutting it saves a lot of hassle.

With a sharp craft knife or scissors (Adult supervision please!) cut along the solid black outlines of the two pieces.

Next fold the dotted lines slightly to aid with alignment and apply adhesive to the flaps in small batches (A thin layer of PVA is excellent but you can also use balsa cement, UHU or similar) Press the flap against the underside of the relevant edge and hold firmly until glue has dried (or at least until it stays put).

Repeat with the rest of the flaps until the two parts are complete.

Upload a photo of your completed design, add arms or legs, make several and leave them hiding at bus stops or public libraries, weigh the base down with pennies inside and use them to play skittles with, embed an rfid loop in the base... anything really - Have Fun!
