Hey! This thing is still a Work in Progress.
Files, instructions, and other stuff might change!
Maker Faire Robot Coin
Description
Seattle Mini Maker Faire Robot Coin / Key FOB from "Thought to Thing in an Hour or Less" workshop at Seattle Mini Maker Faire June 2nd, 2012.
Instructions
Seattle Mini Maker Faire Robot Coin / Key FOB from "Thought to Thing in an Hour or Less" workshop at Seattle Mini Maker Faire June 2nd, 2012.
Use the MakerFaireCoinDemoSingleColor_fixed.stl for single color prints
Use the MakerFaireCoinDemoColorOne_fixed.stl and MakerFaireCoinDemoColorTwo_fixed.stl for 2 Color Prints from machines like the Makerbot Replicator.
I've posted the proccess we went through during the "Thought to Thing" workshop to design and print the Maker Faire Robot Coin here. wulfdesign.blogspot.com/2012/06/seattle-mini-maker-faire-robot-coin-key.html
I've included all the design files from start to finish, including the original Maker Faire Robot image (probably Copywrite and Trademark of Maker Faire).
This is actually Version 2 from doing up the documentaion for posting. It should work the same or better than the originals we did up during the workshop, but if not let me know and I can upload them as well.
The workshop version was designed to be only 2mm thick for quick printing due to time constraints and for give away during the Maker Faire. I'll try and upload a beefier 3mm version that'll hold up better as well as a version with a beveled draft that can be cast up in metal easily.
As always it was a lot of fun coming up with something and seeing it printed in such a short amount of time. 2 Color 3d printing has come a long way in the past couple of years. thingiverse.com/thing:4219
A Special thanks to Emmett and his Makerbot Replicator [Venus] for being on hand to make the 2 Color Printing possible. thingiverse.com/emmett
