Printrboard case
Description
Instructions
Printrboard should be quite snug inside (about 2mm clearance on each side and around 5mm at the top), and big hole is for all the connections (including power). The two smaller holes on the side are for usb/sd access.
The screws intended to mount the board are those that you would find on a standard computer (typically used for holding the case closed or for mounting 3.5" hdd's). The screws intended for holding the lid down are M4 self-tappers. The screws for holding the 40mm fan onto the lid are M3's (the fan i use was designed with those in mind and even has a hole for the m3 nuts).
The Nuts in the picture are the nuts im using with my board, from left to right, M3x15 (fan), Self-tapper of im-not-sure size (holds the lid down), 6-32'd used with computers (for holding the board into the box).
If you do print it, i'd love some feedback either here or on #reprap on irc.freenode.net (im shihan).
Updated design for new lid mount holes (should print easier).
The original cad design has now moved off to my github printer design (https://github.com/takigama/pjrun)
Update: Flipped the lid over in the STL (also its repaired with netfabb now cause the stl freecad generates is slightly invalid - the version on here has always been this way, this is just an fyi if your generating it from freecad directly)
Update: Printrboard mount holes were about 0.25mm out in each corner (fixed). Screw holes were all too small for intended screws (fixed).
Update: Shifted USB/SD holes, Resized USB hole for different types of usb cables. Im considering whether I should change the wire exit hole and move it more to the left (close to the corner).
Update: added images of box with lid. Quite happy with how well the lid and box comes together, they fit very well and the fan holes are spot on.
Update: Added an image of the box actually on my printer (lots of things held on with blue tape and double sided tape as they are temporary lodgings)

Theres something of a minor annoyance with my Rev C printrboard. The 4 mounting holes for the board are slightly different sizes (not sure if it's by design or not). 3 of them are sized well for 6-32 screws you'll get in computers, the forth is just a tiny bit smaller and wont accept such a screw - so you may need a slightly smaller screw for the forth hole.
I am going to resize the usb/micro sd holes a bit though cause the microsd hole is perhaps a little bit high (probably not going to annoy). The microusb hole though is too small for some cables.
Finally managed to get a full print of this, pictures coming soon, but the holes are all correctly sized and make sure you print with support on. Thought this model was cursed or something cause everytime i went to print it something odd happened with my printer... Havent done the lid yet, but thats coming out of the printer very shortly.
Anyone done this successfully?
The Box is fine to print now, uploading pictures soon, but everything lines up the way it should
I have, but i wasnt paying attention to my fillament spool and it ran out about 1cm from the base... it looked ok at that point, but i need to take another run at it and finish it off
You'll need to do something about the bolt mounts and the USB
&
amp; SD holes on the vertical walls. You'll struggle to print on air like that. You could add some more material under the mounts angled back to the main body.
Thats weird, i replied to this already, but its disappeared... anyways, ok, i can see why the overhanging lid bits would cause problems, i've got an idea how to fix that one... with the sd/usb holes tho, some of the parts i've gotten for my printer have holes like that but they come filled in and i have to punch them out, will the printer have trouble trying to do that with this?
im printing one right now ill let you know how it goes when its done :D

I've printed the lid as well now, fits perfectly and everything lines up. using a 12v 40mm fan with M3 by 15's (though im not sure this is really required, my printrboard doesnt really get warm at all). The screws im using for the lid -
&
gt; box holes are self-tappers but im not sure what size. Photos coming soon
Inside the box, printrboard does actually get a little warm so do indeed run a fan if you use the box with its lid
