Thanks to everyone who entered our 'On Such a Full Sea' Fish Challenge!

We thought we'd share our own design inspired by Chang-Rae Lee's heroine, Fan, who is a tank diver.

This design requires supports while printing. It takes a few hours to remove all the supports with pliers, but the results are definitely worth it!

Print in PLA with standard settings, supports, and a raft. Remove supports with needle-nosed pliers and/or wire cutters.

Hey MakerBot, is this copywrited?

I think it's funny that these Makerbot brand STLs never work right.

I've had no troubles on my MB Rep2 (maybe 1 of 20). Theirs are some of the best prints it's produced.

I'm sure Makerbot STLs work just fine on Makerbot products.

not all the time

So, who won the challenge? Makerbot?

LOL yeah, I love that this design is now in the list of challenge entries. That's a pretty high bar to beat.

Announcement is on the 19th though. They'll need time to print/verify the finalist pieces.

Don't suppose you guys have a picture with the support still attached?

Posted a pic in my "made one" post. Hope that helps.

yeah, stl files could be handy

.stl uploaded!

thank you!

Any chance you could upload STL or OBJ files for this?

Just uploaded an .stl.

thanks Bumblecat! I was so excited to see this finally uploaded. yeah!!! now to find a 9 hour stretch to print it, and then a 2 hour stretch to remove supports. the efforts are certainly worth it, beautiful model. :-)
