Instructions
Download the ZIP file (contains 21 files). Procure two 1/2" Diameter x 24" long dowels, 8 #5 x 1/2" Pan Head Phillips Wood Screws, and a can of ABS pipe cement (used for glueing black ABS drain pipes) from the local hardware store.
For those with larger build platforms (>6.75") the complete shovel base is now uploaded.
Print all the components using ABS (not PLA, so the solvent in the glue works!).
Use the ABS cement to glue the 5 shovel parts together & let dry.
Assemble 2 sets of handles using the 3 handle parts (left & right grip plus the dowel mounting post and 2 #5 screws. (C-clamps and ABS cement work here as well).
Ream the Dowel holes to 1/2" Diameter as needed.
Insert the dowels into the respective holes and align the handles to the rake and shovel before securing in place. Either glue or screw into place by drilling a 1/16" Pilot hole in the ABS and dowel, then 1/8" clearance hole in the abs approximately 1" from the open end of the dowel mounts. Fasten the dowel in place using one #5 pan head screw in each mount hole.
Paint and/or decorate to your liking. Happy scooping!

any chance you could make the stl for for a whole item instead of 5 parts glued together for those of us with a larger replicator? Thanks.
Oh, I wish I still had a dog so I could print this out. I miss my poochie :-(
RIP....
No problem, the complete shovel base is uploaded. It will take ~7" (175mm) platform to build it. :)
