Summary

A fantastic explosion of hearts in Emmett's heart gears!

I really liked Emmett's heart gears, but I wanted to do something more with them. While combing through thingiverse, I got inspiration from roman_hegglin's voronoi heart. So, I set upon modifying each of the 2-3 pieces to make them heart-tastic. I hollowed out each piece and placed an arrangement of heart cutouts in each one giving them an extraordinary look.

You can print all of them to make a full fantastical heart or take one or two pieces to mix in with Emmett's Original!

Props to Emmett on his amazing designs!

It is quite solid and meshes well. And it looks Great!!

Here is a video of it doing a full rotation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxiOcXK4axI
I tried to turn it around to show all sides during the video :)

Update: The fins that Emmett adds to the bottom of the holes (he describes this in his "Parametric Snap Pins" description) caused artifacts in my files that put a chunk at the bottom of each hole. I was able to remove these with my needle nose pliers, but thought that is not a great way to share a print, so I have gone into tinkercad and fixed the artifact in each of the pieces.
The fixed files have been uploaded and work great!

Happy printing!

dude: are you from off world ?...this is way too cool to be done by humans !!!

A beautiful remix of a great design. I love the additional hearts and hollow pieces. It would be nice if the faces on the middle piece were numbered and the underside of the gear pieces were numbered too.

Awesome Design! Easy to print, easy enough to assemble :)

I'm having problems assembling it, the video for Emmet's heart gears won't work on this one. Could you please give some instructions?

My large Right Lobe will not slice with the Makerbot Software

Sounds like a medical problem... you should get that looked at :) kidding aside, I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems. I have not used the Makerbot software, so I cannot offer any help there. I used Kisslicer to slice these and it worked perfectly. There is a free version of it and it works with all printers including Makerbots. It slices Very fast. I also tried slicing several of the pieces with Slic3r and they all worked with that slicing software as well.

I ran all of the pieces through the Netfabb cloud service before posting them, so they should be good. If you could post which piece number you are having problems with, maybe someone familiar with the Makerbot software could chime in with a tip.

Did the other pieces slice ok?

Meshes perfectly, turns easily, doesn't fall apart. looks awesome! well done!

Thems are some Meta, Hearted, Heart gears.

Please add a photo of the whole assembly.
