3d printer parts work in progress

Instructions

3d Redering of the LC parts for printrbot plus. The lc do not exist in the wild so it was a lot of work to make the lc drawings. It was also a lot of work to make them into something a 3d printer can print. When I am sure that the files are working are good I will set them free.
cheers

so i added a file which is all the parts as 3d items. Use at your own risk. the parts will not print out of the box. Its a start for the experimenter.

any updates?

can you post all .stl files?

Its almost ready! I had to make a lot of changes to the dxf's.  I am planning a kickstart and the lc's for the plus will be available as an option.  I will let you know soon. :)

can you post dxf for lasercutting ?

a 2D interlocking variation of this would work great on smaller laser cutter beds. does your city have a makerspace? they usually have some manner of CNC cutting, laser, dremmel, plasma.

Be sure to read all the comments. these files are neither final nor complete. This is a concept for an entirely printable printrbotr 8" the 8" files are different from the regular printrbot. i will post all files when i am sure it will build a printrbot. sorry for the wait but life has beeen a little rough this past month

you have only 3 files for download, but the names imply a fourth... reprintparts2.stl seems to be missing?

This looks awesome. Looked at the models you've done so far and they seem to match the LC parts (though i can't find an image for the specific Printrbot PLUS parts). A friend of mine has a printrbot and I was wondering if I could use his to make my own Printrbot Plus. Think you'll need an 8"x8"x8" printer to print the parts?

getting there folks... I am nearing the end of the mechanical build and there are about seven or eight parts that i will need to revisit before i post the final. I want to make sure what i put up is completely do-able and has been done.

This is a really cool idea, it looks really awesome so far from the pictures. I can't wait to make a complete one 8-)

You are AWESOME!!! 8-)

Can't wait for it to be down so i can make one.

because i dont have a 3d printer and i could make this on a cnc machine

Pheewww!!!

this is proving to be more difficult then i hoped it would be. I guess i knew i wasnt going to get off easy.

8-) 8-) By the way hats off to Brook, dude you are a rock star in my book! 8-) 8-) 8-)

so i am trying to get the parts to print. not so easy. as i get parts that i know are good i will post. be patient. I hope you like all the renderings of the printrbot lc made in printed abs plastic!
:-D .

fyi I am working on a new design for an expandable retractable scaleable cam platform . =-O =-O =-O =-O I might leak out a photo here and there :-P

Nice !!
&
lt;-two thumbs up!

Are all the parts there now, and what bed size do they fit on?

Not yet. the dimensions on a bunch of the holes and stuff are different fromthe lc so i want to make sure its perfect before i post . Sorry to just give you the teaser for now . this bot is actually built to be expandable like you would expand a table around the holidays.

So here's the skinny. I want a printrbot plus. so i had to get creative. I did not have acces to a laser cutter . so i have been modelling all the lc parts so that they can be extruded on a printer. I hope to have my stl for it up soon. you may get drip and drabs from time to time. i will keep you posted.
