Description

This is a 3D model of a wooden toy my Dad made for me about 20 years ago. I've been digitizing and printing scale models of old toys for my Dad two Father's Days in a row now and it's been a hit. I'm uploading it so even more kids can get some enjoyment out of the toy he made!

The included STL is for a scale model print with a 100mm wing span. If you were to scale the wing span up to around 2200mm you would be printing this full size! The only thing cooler than scale models of toys is full size models!

The scale model included requires a few short lengths of 1/8" dowel rod for construction. I'll be uploading a fully 3D printable version in the next few days, though because of the diameter of the struts and wheel axel it may be best to print at a larger scale.

A few more photos and details are included in a blog post here:

Instructions

1. Print included STL (one ToM print bed)
2. Cut 1/8" dowel to size for wheel axel and struts
3. Hot glue/super glue/ABS glue wood and ABS parts in place
4. Play!
