Description

My (9y) son wanted a toy gun so I decided to print one out. Instead of gluing the gun as 1 piece, we put super magnets on the inside. This way he could 'break' the gun in half and go 'double'. Works great!!

Instructions

Print the Glock v2 (left and right) as instructed. I scaled to 75%.

Once done I used (ruined) my soldering iron to carve/melt away a pocket for the magnets to fit.

Be sure to rough up the glue side of magnet and use a strong glue like epoxy!

Let dry overnight and you're all set!

One thing that does bother me is that the gun is total black ... I might glue an orange/red tip on the front to denote a 'toy'

I've uploaded the MakerBot s3g files from repG (not sure if they're helpful or not). It's scaled to 75% and platform heat at 110c.

EDIT: I've painted the tip of the gun (all sides) a bright red. As for the STL files.. I didn't want to post those as I really didn't change anything from the orig thing:18821

Great Idea! The STL would help people out more than the S3g. Keep up the good work! 8-)

The s3g files are not very useful for the majority of the users. The STL files are most universal.

Definitely get an orange tip on that ASAP, there have been a lot of avoidable tragedies with kids being shot by the Police (off duty and on) due to gun replicas and bad circumstances (like simple surprise). Might want to add orange racing stripes on the sides while you're at it...

Or don't shoot children with plastic guns.

Or make another one in a different color.
