Description

These are all the parts for a mini-Mendel, separated into build plates suitable to be printed on a MakerBot. Most of the parts stay within the 80mm x 80mm boundaries, so you don't have to worry about the Makerbot extruder running into the build platform screws.

If you find an error with a part and you fix it, email me the fixed part at cyrozap AT gmail DOT com. If you can't or don't want to fix the part, just let me know and I'll look into it.

UPDATE: I just added the four x-axis-clamp_4off files to the production set and to the new single-sheet of parts file. You can find the new "Mini-Mendel in One Sheet" file at thingiverse.com/thing:2606.

Instructions

Print each and enjoy your new mini-Mendel! Maybe, since everyone is focusing on the normal Mendel and making Mendel-RepStraps, you could make a little money by selling mini-Mendel parts for those who don't want a full Mendel's cost.

The zip file contains all the parts.

Looks very nice, having the parts ready to print in the right orientation etc...

But I actually have a problem because of the bottom plate in the file. Would it be possible to get the files of the parts without the plate on the bottom? I'm trying to print them with another machine.

Many thanks

Rustyspoon's, Erik's, and cyrozap's Thingiverse files for the Mini
-Mendel are missing the x-axis-clamps.

I Really want to build a mini mendel but don't have a 3d printer yet. Is there anybody out there that would print the part at a reasonable price for me? Email me at Robotguy@bellsouth.net

In the Sprint of OPEN SOURCE I am also willing to make a deal. If somebody would print the parts for cost plus shipping I will print 2 copies to give to the next people that do the same I did. And they would be under the agreement to print 2 more copies and so on. I find the biggest problem wit
h the mendel
&
amp; Darwin is somebody to print the parts for a fair price.

Tell me what you think,
Mark

Good job dude! your set seems to include the new parts that need to be printed, I will remove my Mini Mendel production set. You did a better job squeezing also!

You had a mini-Mendel production set? I don't remember seeing it. I only know of the mini-Mendel in one sheet.

I used Erik's blender sheet of mini-Mendel parts because I knew that he had a working mini-Mendel and that he put up the full set of parts he used.

Plate 11.stl (in the zip file) seems to be a bit too non-manifold for skeinforge/skeinfox to slice. I haven't inspected the others in detail, but they did slice.

Did that fix it?

What is the advantage of putting it on the 'plate'?

If I remember correctly, some of the older (RepRap 5D?) slicing tools have issues with STL containing more than one discrete part.

They don't show up in a skeinforge/skeinfox slicing operation, and they do help a little with centering operations.

what fill is recomended

I use .3 or .2 on most objects I print and will do the same in this case, but other than that, I really don't know.

this is great!
I want to print those part on a z-corp 3d printer.
I don't need first few mm that you added to the parts (the material which the parts "sit" on).
can you upload the parts as individuals?
thanks

Just get the individual files from here:
