3D Touch BFB Spool - Smaller Diameter - MakerBot Material
Description
These are the 3D parts to print a new spool holder for the 3D touch printer. The parts make the printer compatible with Makerbot and other 3mm filament diameter spools that are much cheaper than the BFB material. The Spool is fully compatible with the existing bearing and other original parts.

So close to what I need... I printed it, but after the first part came out I realized that the Ultimachine spools have a 53mm hole in the middle. I'm uploading the STEP files. I'll let you know what read them, etc.

You are welcome. Glad it could be of use to someone else. let me know if you can use solidworks files or if you have any need for changes to the part. I'm not aware of how useful step files are to other 3d modeling programs such as alibre, etc. Let me know if there are any other more useful formats to upload to file in.
Cheers.

Autodesk 123D can read the STEP files. what might be useful is a combined STL with all 3 pieces. you could then print all three at once. The 3D touch has plenty of room for all three. ( that said, my derivative will use your Spool base.) I printed it it at 0.5mm resolution and 50% fill, with a couple of extra skins. I tried to superglue them together, but they didn't hold. not much surface between the base and tabs on the spindle. I have been meenign to mix up some Acetone/abs glue with all the raft bits I have laying around, I'll try that.
Hi rahotep. I just created a new part "3D Touch BFB Spool - 50mm - Ultimachine". It has the 50mm diameter vertical support to match the 53mm spool holes. Hope this get's you going. http://www.thingiverse.com/thi...
