Camera mount for drink bottles
by juniortan, published
Easily carried around, this allows you to quickly set up self-portraits or even closeup of desktop items using one of the most common items around, an ordinary soft drink bottle.
Tested only on small point and shooters, and a Flip camera - i have no idea how the joints will work with SLRs :-) - in any case USE AT OWN RISK!
This design is Not Entirely Original - I first saw a camera adapter for a drink cap last week, and decided to integrate that with a ball joint found on Thingiverse - Thanks Erik and MakerBlock!

B.t.w. did you take you profile picture with this? ;)
B.t.w. 2: Original ball-joint here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thi...
Very cool. The initial ball/socket was just a trial but then I thought it would probably work since you can tweak it by just entering different values. You can decide how stiff you really want it!
It's very cool to see it actually being printed and used! I'm now linking to this from my original ball joint entry.
actually i considered that; but remembering that when using this, most of the bottles should have a fair amount of liquid inside for a base weight, i thought it would be better to have the bottle's original cap on the bottle :-)
have compile a few bottles and tops, gonna test this weekend what kind of tapering i need to fit all of them :-) thanks Marcus and Bophoto!

2. Supply your own screw to fit camera mounting points - i used a screw from an old tripod.
3. super glue everything together
4. now go find a nice subject to shoot
oh, be prepared to print a few different sizes to find the best fit for the ball and socket. Stick to one socket size, for example, and try different ball sizes. That's in the scad file
