Description

Many SSD drives and HDD's from notebooks are 2.5" form-factor drives. Most desktop machines are designed for 3.5" form-factor drives.

Use this bracket to adapt the 2.5" drive for use in a 3.5" drive space.

Instructions

This is designed so that a UNC 6-32 screw can tap into the plastic of the 3.5" drive mounting holes.

2.5" drives use M3 screws - the holes for them on this bracket is designed for 3 mm diameter.

Drive mounting hole details were extracted from datasheet.octopart.com/FFD-25-IDEP-2048-N-A-M-Systems-datasheet-4668.pdf

Original design file for Alibre Design 2012 is included (AD_PRT).

I like it; looks good, works well. The bottom holes for the hard drive were a little long for standard screws but they still gripped.
