Description

All my designs & progress available @ marginallyclever.com

Skycam is built from two and lets you move an object to any point in a square volume. Perfect for making awesome sweeping camera shots or a giant pick and place machine.

Instructions

Source code: github.com/MarginallyClever/Skycam

- Get two Makelangelos. They come with everything you need.
- Assemble and mount each one in opposite corners of the room.

pen plotter:
- Print a plotter. It is printed upside down to avoid overhangs.
- put m3 screws through the side holes to tighten onto the pen.
- make a loop in the end of the threads.
- put a thread through an arm at the top of the pen holder and hook the loop over the screw near the bottom.
- Insert a pen and tighten the screws. You shouldn't need a death grip. If the pen can slip out the top of the holder, that makes it easy to recap/replace.

top/bottom (camera plotter):
- Put a 1/4-20 bolt through the center of the half with the grooves.
- Attach the 4 strings from the steppers to the bolt so that the grooves face down.
- Put the second half onto the bottom of the bolt.
- Add a 1/4-20 nut to keep the whole thing together.
- Add a camera to the bottom of the bolt.
