Keeps your ear bud cord attached to your iPod and untangled.
Designed by Raven Gildea (design inspiration), Larry James [a.k.a. Wulf Design] (CAD & Print operator), and the other participants of the "Thought to Thing in 2hrs or Less" 3d Print & Design Workshop.
The workshop was held at the Jigsaw Renaissance http://www.jigsawrenaissance.org Maker Space for a Seattle Free School http://www.seattlefreeschool.org Class. During the class we Collaboratively Designed and Printed the "iPod Cord Cleat" in about an hour and a half. I'm adding this design to the Make Magazine Makerbot Giveaway at http://blog.makezine.com/archive/2010/04/makerbot_giveaway.html
If we win the design contest, the Makerbot will most likely reside in the Maker Space so more classes such as this can be easily given.
You should turn on the Comb option in your Skeinforge settings before converting it to gCode to help keep the cleanup of hairs during printing to a minimum.
Use a knife to clean up any rough spots and possibly a needle file to size the cleats to your earphone wires for the best fit.
Version 0.1 was printed in class and was fully functional 'as is' with a little cleanup with a knife.
Version 0.2 should look and print better but is currently untested.
I've included the Rhino3d source file as well as STEP export if anyone wants to make any changes for their particular device.
