Direct derivative of http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:23686
I split the STLs from the original thing into top and bottom parts using the provided SCAD scripts.

1) Print both parts at a given size
2) Glue them together
3) Spin !

I sliced the small one with Slic3r at 25%, rectilinear, 45° infill with 3 perimeters. Some layers were not adhering to the previous one on the layers with high overhang, it would be worth trying with 4 or 5 perimeters, or wider extrusion width.

Unfortunately, no one can be told how much inspiration Inception drew from The Matrix... You have to see it for yourself ;)

I have an Ulimaker and printed it in one piece using support material. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:23686http://www.thingiverse.com/thi...

Thanks man ! Could you share your print settings ? Did you get any stringing on this ?

Well I'm actually in the process of printing two at the same time, I hope the top of the top will be nicer as this should avoid the plastic getting to hot.

I also changed my retraction parameters, I did get some stringing but it looks like there's much less now, although it's not perfect yet. Do you own a Ultimaker ? What are your retraction parameters ?

Klodd - in reply to Klodd

The print turned out quite well, and I changed my settings again, no more stringing with retraction : 1.5mm at 40 mm/s !

The rest of the print settings were 0.2 mm for layers (also for the first one), sliced in Slic3r with 0.15 infill, 3 perimeters. Worked great !

Cool ! Could you post some picture of your new version ? (like standing still, to be able to see any blobbing).

No, I only have a Prusa (somewhere between iteration 1 and 2, originally built a v1 and updated part of the parts to v2).
