Upgrade part for Replicator filament tubes by sirmakesalot Aug 4, 2012

Description

I had a situation with my spools getting jammed after some filament fell off and became wrapped around the spool hangers on my Replicator. I designed these filament guides to hold the tubes in a better position. The photos show what happened and how these parts fit to help eliminate the chance of it happening again by accepting the filament from the middle of the spool. If you have experienced the same thing then these are the parts you need!

This has been driving us nuts! We keep getting the filament jammed, but only on the LEFT Stepstruder, because of the odd space left due to the spool and holder designs. (Why aren't the spools symmetrical? Who knows). Our workaround to date has been to jam a pencil under the left filament tube to wedge it up, but your solution is much more elegant! We had been meaning to design something to address the problem, but you have saved us the time! THANKS!

Instructions

I printed them with .2 layer height, 2 extra shells and 20% infill. They attach with some zip ties or you could use some double sided tape. Gently open your filament guide tube holders and slide them down to accommodate the filament tube guide, attach filament guide, reattach tubes to filament tube holders.

Interesting to compare to thingiverse.com/thing:22649 which solves the same problem. These use less plastic, which is cool.
